In fact it's not as hard as you might think to create your own Minecraft mod. We balance the complexity of programming concepts with an engaging interface, multiple teaching tools, and age-appropriate focus.This tutorial will guide you through the process of decompiling the Minecraft source code and editing particular sections of code to create your very own Minecraft mod. In our courses, we do not use a “copy and paste” approach. Often, the class becomes about playing the game and parents are unsure if their child has grasped the programming fundamentals. Many programs use “copy and paste” functionality to make these classes more fun for the kids. What makes our Modding in Minecraft different? Turn your child’s love of Minecraft into a memorable experience. At the end of the course, kids will have the knowledge and creativity to make projects on their own.
Classes start at the very beginning, so students don’t need prior experience with Minecraft or coding. In the 18-week Minecraft Club course, instructors will guide your child through the game, first learning how to move and explore, before moving on to building and crafting.
Students will love learning how to make a farmhouse, a roller coaster, and even a Rube Goldberg machine. In this course kids will be able to recreate a number of real life structures in-game, while learning about a variety of important topics including architecture, physical, and circuitry. Students will build, edit, and explore a full course of fun and educational projects in Minecraft. Once students have completed Modding in Minecraft, depending on grade level, we recommend Design with Python. Modding Ice and Modding Fire can be taken in any order. No prior coding or Minecraft experience is necessary. These exciting new coding skills can transfer directly to the real-world, where any program can be created. In these classes, students will help their Minecraft character survive the icy plains or the sweltering desert by creating tools, food, armor, weapons, blocks, and more. We offer two versions of this class – Modding ICE and Modding FIRE. Modding in Minecraft allows students to use their imaginations to create custom, unique mods. Learning to code their own mods from the ground up, students literally “hack” the game and write their own rules, all while learning Java (a widely used programming language.) Modding in Minecraft is one of the best way for kids to learn computer science – giving students the chance to make the popular video game Minecraft their own.īy modifying (modding) Minecraft’s underlying code, kids create powerful objects and special powers that do not normally exist in the game.
